Build Affordable Homes Now

  • The Mayor and City Council have a critical leadership role to play in creating compliant housing plans and building affordable homes.

  • Developing a model affordable housing community requires land AND a city financial commitment. 

  • On the other hand, selling city owned land gets money—but no land, which is scarce and expensive.

  • Therefore, we support all City efforts to utilize the city owned 7-acre site known as “L7” and other viable city owned property to build affordable homes now, either through on-site construction, a land swap or other practical strategies.

We support building a model affordable housing community in Encinitas.
